Electrolyte mix for small livestock

Electrolyte mix for chickens, pigeons and chicks.

Complementary feed that can easily be dissolved in (drinking) water. Provides a balanced mix to replenish important electrolytes, bicarbonate and energy and supports digestion and a good fluid balance.

Electrolytes are particularly important during periods of increased temperatures. Birds such as chickens and pigeons cannot sweat and will try to lose heat by panting, spreading their wings and opening their feathers. In addition, feed intake decreases and the animals are less active. An additional effect of panting is a decrease in blood CO2 levels, which increases blood pH. To compensate, urine production increases, causing the animals to lose additional fluid, electrolytes, and bicarbonate, putting them at risk of dehydration. Furthermore, electrolytes are important for supporting recovery after exercise or illness. These animals also require electrolyte supplementation due to reduced feed and water intake in order to stimulate feed and water intake and to support digestion.

Feeding advice
In addition to drinking water:
At the first signs of discomfort in case of high temperatures (panting, spread wings) and to support recovery, dissolve 25 g per litre of water and make it freely available. In addition to the electrolyte mix, always ensure sufficient drinking water is available in a separate water source.

Directly through the drinking water:
Dissolve 2.5 g per litre in the drinking water and provide for 1-7 days.
