Some horses benefit from just a little extra support in communication, without needing a strong action right away. The TRUST Flexi Soft Baby Pelham – Inno Sense was developed for horses that benefit from light leverage combined with a gentle, supple mouthpiece. Thanks to the short shanks of the Baby Pelham cheekpiece and the soft Inno Sense Flexi Soft material, this bit combines refined control, comfort, and calm in the contact. This makes it particularly suitable for horses that are sensitive in the mouth but still need a bit more boundary or support.

The mouthpiece – Flexi Soft
The Flexi Soft mouthpiece is unjointed and made from high-quality synthetic material with a flexible metal core. This allows the mouthpiece to hold its shape while remaining very supple and gentle in its action.

The unjointed construction supports even pressure distribution across the tongue and contributes to a calm, stable contact. Many horses find this type of mouthpiece comfortable because it adapts smoothly to the mouth without any joints. The Flexi Soft mouthpiece is often chosen for:

• Sensitive horses
• Young horses in training
• Horses that struggle with contact
• Horses that easily pull back behind the bit

The standard version has a thickness of 20 mm. A Slim variant of 15 mm is also available for horses with less room in the mouth or a lower palate.

The cheekpiece – Baby Pelham
The Baby Pelham cheekpiece has shorter shanks than a traditional pelham, giving it a milder leverage action. This offers extra support in communication while keeping the bit's friendly character. The combination of mouthpiece, curb chain, and shanks distributes the action across:

• The mouth
• The lower jaw
• The poll

This can offer support for horses that can become strong in the contact while remaining sensitive in the mouth.

The Baby Pelham is also often chosen for:

• Horses getting used to riding with a curb and bradoon
• Horses with limited room in the mouth for two bits
• Combinations looking for more refinement and control while retaining comfort

Note: A correctly fitted curb chain is essential for a calm and balanced action of the bit. Because of the leverage effect, this type of cheekpiece requires a quiet, independent hand and sufficient rider experience.

The material – Inno Sense
Inno Sense is a synthetic material that has been carefully developed and extensively tested. It is free of harmful substances and contains no plasticizers. Compared to traditional metal/steel mouthpieces, Inno Sense feels significantly softer and warmer. Many sensitive horses, horses with a sensitive mouth, or horses with a preference for nonmetal bits respond very positively to it. The material supports relaxation and acceptance, which is essential in the foundation of any training. This creates more length, allowing the horse to more easily seek contact with the hand and creating more calm in the connection.

Suitability
The TRUST Flexi Soft Baby Pelham – Inno Sense is particularly suitable for horses that need a gentle mouth action combined with light leverage.

It is a deliberate choice for:

• Sensitive horses that can still become somewhat strong
• Horses with little room in the mouth
• Horses getting used to a combination of curb and snaffle action
• Riders who want to combine refined control with comfort

For horses that need more support in the action, a different type of pelham may be a better fit.

For competitions under FEI rules, always check the most current regulations. Synthetic mouthpieces are not permitted in all disciplines at international level.
