Some horses are extra sensitive in the mouth. They may react strongly to a traditional mouthpiece, struggle to accept contact, or need extra comfort after treatment or injury. In such situations, a softer mouthpiece can help build trust in the contact step by step. The TRUST Sponge Bit was developed to support the mouth as comfortably as possible. Thanks to its soft, sponge-like outer layer, the bit feels gentle and contributes to a calm, relaxed connection between horse and rider.

How it works
The TRUST Sponge Bit has a soft outer layer that subtly cushions shocks and pressure. This makes the mouthpiece feel less harsh than a traditional metal bit, creating comfortable contact with the tongue and mucous membranes of the mouth.

The cushioning properties can contribute to:

• More comfort for sensitive horses
• Calmer acceptance of the bit
• More trust in the contact
• A softer connection between horse and rider

Horses that struggle with metal bits or react sensitively to pressure in particular often find the soft character of the Sponge Bit pleasant.

The material
The Sponge Bit is made with a soft, sponge-like outer layer around a solid core. This combination provides comfort while the mouthpiece keeps its shape during riding. Due to the soft structure, the material does require regular maintenance and inspection. Always check the bit for damage or wear before and after use, so it stays safe and comfortable for the horse.

Suitability
The TRUST Sponge Bit is particularly suitable for:

• Horses with a sensitive mouth
• Horses that struggle to accept metal bits
• Horses that benefit from a softer action
• Horses during or after a period of mouth sensitivity or recovery

Thanks to its comfortable character, the Sponge Bit is a valuable choice when extra softness is the priority.
